Lau Dan

Profile

Liu Tan was born in Shanghai in 1945 and moved with his family to Hong Kong five years later. In 1968, Liu entered the actor training class run by Cathay Film Organisation and was signed up by the studio after graduated. Liu started his career in supporting roles until he got his big break in "An Apple A Day" in 1970. Liu moved to Shaw Brothers in 1971 and among the movies he appeared in "The Devil's Mirror" and "The Warlord". Liu left Shaw Brothers in 1972 to concentrate predominantly on voice dubbing while he still making sporadic appearance in films. In 1977, Liu joined TVB as a contract actor. His acclaimed role was as the villain in the classic series "The Bund". For the past two decades, Liu has made regular appearance in TVB and he was one of the popular artists in Hong Kong. -- From the Celestial DVD release of "The Devil's Mirror". Born : 18th-Dec-1945

紅樓夢

- Jia Yucun, a scholar, is exiled to Yangzhou and becomes a guest of the salt inspector, Lin Ruhai. He teaches Lin's daughter, Lin Daiyu, and escorts her to the Jia family's Rongguo Mansion. Jia Yucun helps Daiyu's uncle, Jia Zheng, and is reinstated. Daiyu becomes close to her cousin, Jia Baoyu, but Wang Xifeng, a daughter-in-law, schemes to marry Baoyu to Xue Baochai, a relative of the family's matriarch. When Baoyu falls ill after losing a jade, the family forces him to marry Xue Baochai, pretending that she is actually Daiyu. Daiyu is heartbroken and dies shortly after. The family eventually declines, and Baoyu becomes a monk.

- MA FU, a retired employee of the HK Correctional Services Department, moved back to live with his son after retirement. The father and son get into disputes daily and his elder brother MA KEUNG and his wife LO LAI SEUNG are often stuck in between and have to settle the disputes. The couple also holds the heavy responsibility of raising their kids. Three generations in the MA family all live together and encounter different situations, experiences and system of values.

He sets her free and is exposed and gets fired as a result. HUI runs a tourist agent and PAO WEN ruins it out of vengeance, making him bankrupt. HUI then conspires with his cousin YUAN AN to rob. When AN Kills a passer-by in a car accident, HUI bears the brunt and gets jailed. Learning of this, LI HUNG often blackmails AN. AN sends someone to threaten LI HUNG, indirectly causing her death……
