Francis Bacon was an Irish-born British figurative painter known for his emotionally charged raw imagery, fixation on personal motifs, and heavy experimentation. At the age of sixteen Bacon left his home in rural Ireland to try his luck in London. Follow his eventful journey to become one of Britain's most acclaimed artists. Born : 28th-Oct-1909

Author Melvyn Bragg accompanies the painter throughout his day. This begins in his London atelier, leads us on to his favourite pub and ends up in gambling club in Soho.
