Marie-France Boyer

Marie-France Boyer (born 22 April 1938 in Marseille) is a French actress, singer and the author of many internationally published non-fiction books on France. She appeared from 1959 until 1976 in more than a dozen feature films and several TV shows. During her career as actress she worked with many directors, among them François Villiers, Henri Verneuil, Agnès Varda, Riccardo Freda, Luc de Heusch, John Krish and Gilles Grangier. Marie-France Boyer also had the female leading part in the TV series Quentin Durward, playing Isabelle de Croye, whose fate becomes a subject of dispute between the duke of Burgundy and the king of France. As a part of this role, she sings two medieval songs. Isabelle's beauty and loveliness inspire the protagonist to surpass himself, and when he is finally offered high positions at either ruler's courts, he refuses both because he prefers to live by her side. In 1967, she participated in screen tests for the search of the new male actor for the figure of James Bond in the film On Her Majesty's Secret Service. Une fille nommée Amour

A pleasingly pump female gets behind the wheel of a car during a party game and has an accident. Now temporarily confined to a wheelchair, the girl is holed up in her apartment. Watching through binoculars, she sees a man in a Mardi Gras clownsuit fight with another man and flee. Somehow the clown ends up in the girl's apartment where the two make love. Later, he returns to her after the man he had fought with shoots him. Though his clownsuit is stained with blood, she allows him in once again and hopes that love has long last arrived.

Quentin Durward

Isabelle de Croye - Quentin Durward is a French-German swashbuckler TV series. It was produced in 1970, directed by Gilles Grangier and broadcast in 1971. The series starred the German actor Amadeus August as the protagonist and the French actress Marie-France Boyer as Isabelle de Croye. The series was based on Sir Walter Scott's in 1823 published novel Quentin Durward. It concerns a Scottish soldier who serves French King Louis XI while the King has to overcome the schemes of his rival Charles the Bold and Jean Balue. The TV series kept close to the classic novel and was often shot at historic French locations. The French version consists of 7 instalments of 52 minutes each, while the dubbed German version had 13 episodes of about 25 minutes apiece. Both versions have been made available on DVD.
