Carl Banas, born on January 23, 1929 in Toronto, is a retired radio personality and actor. He is well-known for his voice roles in popular shows like Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Rocket Robin Hood, and The Raccoons: Let’s Dance! Apart from his voice acting career, Carl Banas also appeared on television as a police detective named Byron James in the series Wojeck. He lent his voice to various TV series and features, showcasing his talent and versatility. In addition to his on-screen work, Banas was a beloved radio personality on different Toronto radio stations. His deep voice, smooth manner, and captivating stories about Toronto made him a favorite among listeners. Banas also made his mark in the world of commercials and cartoons, recording voices for numerous TV advertisements and animated shows. Interestingly, he is one of the three surviving cast members from Spider-Man, along with Paul Soles (Spider-Man) and Alfie Scopp (Stan Patterson). The Trolls and the Christmas Express

The Trolls and the Christmas Express is an animated classic about six roguish trolls who are determined to sabotage Christmas by infiltrating Santa's village disguised as elves. On the day before Christmas Eve they get the reindeer dancing and singing songs all night long. The poor reindeer are so tired the next day that they cannot find the energy to pull Santa's sleigh. Return to Oz

Rather than adapt a later or create a new Oz story, this production has Dorothy still in posession of the shoes, and she clings to an apple tree during a tornado which takes her back to Oz. The Scarecrow, Tin Woodman, and Lion (using the names created for the nearly-abstract television series, Tales of the Wizard of Oz, from which this was derived) have had their MGM gifts destroyed by the restored Wicked Witch, and the four proceed to the Wizard for help, who is ineffectual as usual.

Byron James - A coroner searches for truth and justice with the help of his friends, while trying to hold his family together. (inspired by the headlines of Dr. Morton Shulman, chief coroner in Toronto) In the 1960s, Canadian TV underwent a shift led by "Wojeck" and "This Hour Has Seven Days." "Wojeck," influenced by Dr. Morton Shulman's work, explored safety standards through naturalistic filmmaking by Ronald Weyman and Grahame Woods. John Vernon's portrayal of Wojeck, a Polish Catholic confronting moral dilemmas, tackled societal issues like abortion and drug addiction. Guided by Weyman and David Peddie, the show bravely addressed topics like homosexuality and elderly neglect, gaining acclaim and international recognition.
