Night, Birds Scream

Shinichi debuted as a novelist at a young age, but his career has been stagnant for many years. He also has broken up with his girlfriend. His day have now become gloomy. At this time, Yuko and her son moves into Shinichi's home. Yuko is the ex-wife of Shinichi's friend. Shinichi lets them stay at his house. Shinichi writes his novel every night, while Yuko goes out at night to date men. She is conflicted with her feelings to act as a strong parent and to deal with her unspeakable loneliness. Yuko's son, feeling the loss of his father's presence, begins to admire Shinichi. With their living arrangement, Shinichi and Yuko try keep their distance from each other. But one night.. Shingo Fujimiya - Harumi Morishita (Eiko Koike) lives with her husband Kyohei Amaya, but they have not officially registered their marriage. One day, she receives a phone call from that police that her husband has died. She goes to the hospital where her husband Kyohei Amaya was sent to. There, Harumi Morishita meets Kanako Ogura (Ryo) and Akane Fujimiya (Rei Okamoto), who both insist that Kyohei Amaya is their husband. Both Kanako Ogura and Akane Fujimiya have not registered their marriage like Harumi Morishita. A will was left behind by Kyohei Amaya. His will leads Harumi Morishita, Kanako Ogura and Akane Fujimiya to a single mother share house and states that he will leave 300 million yen to the only wife that he loved.

Yuki Hatade - Ichiro Seike (Sho Sakurai) is a popular, 43 year old politician. He has gained popularity for his impressive smile and liberal speech and behavior. He is expected to be a future prime minster candidate. He has a secretary, Toshiya Suzuki (Tetsuji Tamayama), who carefully works to guide him to the prime minister position. They look like a perfect match as a politician and his secretary, but Reporter Kanae Michiura (Asami Mizukawa) feels something is off about the relationship of these two. She begins to investigate their past and notices the mysterious deaths that have followed Ichiro Seike during his rise in politics. Her own father's death, who was also a reporter, is somehow connected to the politician's past.
