VOÏVOD: We Are Connected

From unlikely origins in northern Québec at the height of the Cold War, Voïvod’s post-apocalyptic sci-fi aesthetic, fuelled by a youthful obsession with their instruments, took them from underground success to sharing dates and tours with Iron Maiden, Rush, and Metallica. Despite adversity, and perhaps by cosmic intervention or just serendipity, Voïvod found guitarist Daniel “Chewy” Mongrain; subsequently, the band re-ignited their engines and laid a course back to Morgöth via numerous live shows around the world, a comeback album in Target Earth, singles, EPs, and finally, the late-career triumph, The Wake. In 2019, Voïvod were recognized by the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences with a Juno Award for best hard rock/metal album of the year for The Wake.
Released : 29th-Jul-2024

Men Without Hats - Live Hats!

Full concert performance recorded in Montreal in August 1985 during their Freeways tour. Contains songs from their first two albums, The Rhythm Of Youth and Folk Of The '80s Pt.3. Although best known for their massive hit, 'The Safety Dance', Men Without Hats were more than just a one-trick pony. Led by vocalist Ivan, MWH's wry humor and eccentric approach to their music was misunderstood by many and they remain one of the most underappreciated bands of their time. Helping to usher in the synth-pop craze of the 1980s, the Quebec-based collective Men Without Hats were led by brothers Ivan and Stefan Doroschuk, and are best known for their 1982 single "The Safety Dance." This live performance was held in 1985 in Montreal, Canada, and features that hit in addition to "Antarctica," "Modern Dancing," and "I Got The Message."
Released : 30th-May-2006
