The Werkteater played this performance 'in the den of the lion': in psychiatric institutions for patients and carers. Afterwards the discussions sometimes ran high, but even during the performance the audience sometimes mixed themselves in the scenes.

In 1939, Charlotte Salomon leaves Berlin to seek refuge at her grandparents' villa in the south of France. A little later, war breaks out, and Charlotte must, besides forgetting all she left behind, deal with her grandmother's depression, and her mother's suicide. To fight despair, Charlotte starts to paint, producing over one thousand images. "Is my life real, or is it theater?" This is the title she gives her body of work, which highlights her former life in Berlin. She finds herself though her art, but in 1943 is deported to Germany and Auschwitz.

Tante Truus - Ti-Ka lives with her father Ti-Ta a Wizard in a castle in the sky high above the clouds. Her father is a absent-minded wizard, and has a spellbook. He also brews all kinds of his own brews. However, he has one limitation: he cannot turn strawberries into camels, but he can turn them into dromedaries. Ti-Ka also learns magic from her father, but she only partially succeeds because of her father's absent-mindedness. However, if she claps her hands, she can freeze all people on earth like a statue. When she claps her hands again they start moving again and they think they have slept.
