Queen: On the Rock Trail

Unauthorized! Christmas 1975 was a remarkable time for the band Queen as their groundbreaking single Bohemian Rhapsody held the number one chart position in the UK for nine weeks. Showcasing the unique talent of Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon, the complex operatic section of Bohemian Rhapsody could not be performed live so a video was produced, which changed the face of music, quite literally, for all time. Never again would a single be released without a promotional video to back it up and Queen was forever associated with both visual and musical spectacle. However, there’s a great deal more to Queen than Bohemian Rhapsody and On the Rock Trail will provide an incredible insight into this luminescent Rock phenomenon that took the world by storm.

This tour featured their "Pizza Oven" lighting rig which consisted of 320 par lights arranged on a massive moveable rig above the band. Queen - Live at the Rainbow '74

For the long time fan, maybe the most outstanding concert of Queen. The reason? It gives a perfect overview of an early Queen presentation. The material, the costumes, and the performance of the members are really great and supported by the hilarious conversational approach of a young Freddie Mercury. In one of the last interviews, the singer Freddie Mercury said that the way he looked in those days were ridiculous; many would argue. The band looked very theatrical and outrageous. That's the way that the orthodox, good old fashion Queen fan likes it more, so it's joyful to see the careful treatment of the performance and the power of the Queen sound when all the members of the band sing together.
