A UFC Middleweight Championship rematch between current champion Alex Pereira (also former Glory Middleweight and Light Heavyweight Champion) and former champion Israel Adesanya is expected to headline the event. The pairing previously met at UFC 281 in which Pereira captured the title by fifth round knockout. The two also previously met twice in kickboxing matchups. The first in April 2016 which Pereira won by unanimous decision. Their second meeting took place at Glory of Heroes 7 in March 2017 which Pereira won by third round knockout.

UFC on Fox 9: Johnson vs. Benavidez 2 was a mixed martial arts event held on December 14, 2013, at the Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento, California. The main event was a rematch for the Flyweight title between Demetrious Johnson and Joseph Benavidez. Co-featured on the card was a bout between top bantamweight contenders Urijah Faber and Michael McDonald.

UFC on Fox 21: Maia vs. Condit was a mixed martial arts event held on August 27, 2016 at at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The event was headlined by a welterweight contest between former WEC Welterweight Champion and former interim UFC Welterweight Champion Carlos Condit and former UFC Middleweight Championship challenger Demian Maia.

Duel of Legends is directed by Hector Echavarria and is about a Chinese boy who is left to survive by himself because his parents were murdered by rebels. The boy is raised by a Temple Monk who teaches the boy the secrets of the Martial arts. When the child grows up he travels to America were he joins American tournaments in karate where he discovers a dark secret about who actually killed his parents. An action filled martial arts movie with many twist and turns.

UFC 205: Alvarez vs. McGregor is a mixed martial arts event promoted by the Ultimate Fighting Championship held on November 12, 2016 at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York. This event was the first UFC event hosted in New York City. It was also the first UFC event hosted in the state of New York after the longtime professional MMA ban was revoked in early 2016. The event was headlined by a UFC Lightweight Championship bout between then champion Eddie Alvarez and UFC Featherweight Champion Conor McGregor.

UFC Fight Night 94: Poirier vs. Johnson was a mixed martial arts event produced by the Ultimate Fighting Championship held on September 17, 2016, at State Farm Arena in Hidalgo, Texas. A lightweight bout between Dustin Poirier and Michael Johnson served as the event headliner.

UFC 204: Bisping vs. Henderson 2 was a mixed martial arts event produced by the Ultimate Fighting Championship held on October 8, 2016 at the Manchester Arena in Manchester, England. The event was headlined by a UFC Middleweight Championship bout between current champion Michael Bisping and the former Pride Welterweight, Pride Middleweight and former Strikeforce Light Heavyweight Champion Dan Henderson. The pairing met previously in July 2009 at UFC 100 with Henderson taking the victory via second round highlight reel knockout.
