An unconscious teenage girl is found on the street with a pistol in her hand. The girl remains silent until a friendly doctor gets her to open up about her life and the reasons she has found herself in her current situation.

A teenage gang led by the vicious Dexter, with his girlfriend Bitsy and friends Denny and Lummox, creates havoc in a small Florida town by harassing various people and vandalizing property... just for the hell of it. When a former gang member, Doug, tries to prevent their ever increasing violent antics, Denny takes it upon himself and a few loyal members of the gang to target Doug's girlfriend, Jeanne, to make him back off.

Not only that, but a new rival emerges in the reigning female champion karuta player, Shinobu Wakamiya, a karuta prodigy who became the nation's and the world's greatest female karuta player as a 9th grader. All of this forces Chihaya to reexamine her love of the game in the midst of preparing for one of the biggest tournaments of the year.

When her sister runs away from the Christian community where they've lived, Clara decides to set off to Montreal in search of her, and discovers the world, doubt, and price of freedom.

College coeds in New York City, Al, the son of a celebrity chef, and Imogen, a talented artist, become smitten the second they lay eyes on one another at a bar. Miyagi takes Daniel under his wing, training him in a more compassionate form of karate for self-defense and later, preparing him to compete against the brutal Cobra Kai.
