The scene is set in Kashmir, in the northernmost part of India, where the great Indus River meanders.Kamala, the granddaughter of Maharaja Chandra Kumar, the powerful viceroy of Benares, and who is promised to become the chief lady-in-waiting of the daughter of Goyar, the Grand Duke of Delhi, falls in love with Cavalry Captain Rachman, who hails from a farmer’s household. Her amour with the captain, however, is strongly opposed to by her grandfather and grandmother and aunts, on the grounds that the young lovers are too vastly separated in their respective social position.

The story unfolds in the turbulent period in the history of Japan, where two imperial courts exist. Kusunoki Masatsura, a warlord of the Southern Court, knows the court is approaching its downfall while spending his days fighting against the Northern Court along with his younger brothers: Masatoki and Masanori. Along the way Masatsura meets Ben no Naishi and the two fall in love. The full-blown cherry blossom season arrives, and with a decisive battle looming Masatsura wonders what he is fighting for. Amidst a storm of cherry blossoms, Masatsura follows the path he has chosen… "Dream Chaser" is one who chases their dreams. Rays can come in the form of light and heat. This show represents the beginning of another era for the Star troupe with the emergence of the troupe's top star, Makoto Rei, and a fresh start led by a new top pair comprising of herself and Hitomi Maisora. Rei will be a ray, radiating light along with her shining Star troupe members as they sing and dance with fervor upon the stage. In this show, the gorgeous songs and choreography are all designed around themes of beauty and light.

Oscar Wilde's play "An Ideal Husband" is a humorous depiction of a young man who eventually arrives at true love during a brewing scandal involving his best friend, who is considered to be the "ideal husband."
