This is simply one of the most beautiful love stories ever made. The somewhat convoluted plot concerns a shell-shocked WWII veteran who remembers nothing of his life before the war, not even his own name. He escapes from the mental institution he's been confined to, and falls for a beautiful chorus girl he meets on the street. They're obviously meant for each other, but then tragedy strikes, and their ideal life together is no more. The great Ronald Colman and the lovely Greer Garson are fantastic together. No one was more perfectly suited to this hard-hitting romantic drama than these two. In the novel by James Hilton, Smithy, the character played by Colman in the film, is supposed to be somewhere in his mid-twenties, while Colman was about fifty when he did this. But since it's Ronald Colman, hey, let's face it: no one in their right mind is going to be complaining. Plus, it helps that the span of time covered in the story is at least ten or twenty years. The plot is so tricky and involved, you must pay close attention and remain awake and alert throughout the course of the film. But every moment is worth it. As you watch, you want nothing more than to see these two wonderful people find happiness together. It's a long movie, but when the ending finally rolls around, you're bound to have a smile on your face and a warm feeling in your heart, because let me tell you, that ending is pure bliss.
A young man comes back to his hometown to be confronted with a bourgeois obnoxious family who has always despised his -now dead - parents because they were music hall artists, "entertainers". But because he's the sole legatee of an uncle's fortune, his relatives become friendly with him.. at least for a while.
Russia, 1835. Lieutenant Hermann, a compulsive gambler, is fascinated by an infallible martingale held by Countess Tomski, nicknamed The Queen of Spades. The day Hermann wants to wring the secret from her, the countess dies of fear. Following this tragic scene, Hermann sinks into dementia. Luckily, Lisa, his frail lover, brings him back to life and happiness.
Shortly after WWII, the DEFA Studios produced a series of operas and operettas which belonged to the classical German musical heritage. This enchanting film, the very first opera production of DEFA, stands out because of its lavish decor and costumes, its outstanding actors and their masterful voices of that time.
In January 1943 the German army, afraid of an Allied invasion of the Balkans, launched a great offensive against Yugoslav Partisans in Western Bosnia. The only way out for Partisan forces and thousands of refugees was the bridge on the river Neretva.
In an effort to be able to afford expensive treatment for her gravely ill American husband, a retired German entertainer returns to the cabaret as Blonde Venus and catches the eye of a wealthy politician.
A subtile, soft exploration of the relation between love and death.
A famous industrialist is murdered at a restaurant in Malmoe. Police inspector Martin Beck in Stockholm gets the case. The suspects lead to people involved in illegal arms deals. But who was the biggest criminal, the murderer or the industrialist?

While hiding from bullies in his school's attic, a young boy discovers the extraordinary land of Fantasia, through a magical book called The Neverending Story. The book tells the tale of Atreyu, a young warrior who, with the help of a luck dragon named Falkor, must save Fantasia from the destruction of The Nothing.
HELD FOR RANSOM tells the true story of Danish photojournalist Daniel Rye who was held hostage for 398 days in Syria by the terror organization ISIS along with several other foreign nationals including the American journalist, James Foley. The film follows Daniel’s struggle to survive in captivity, his friendship with James, and the nightmare of the Rye family back home in Denmark as they try to do everything in their power to save their son. At the center of this crisis, we find hostage negotiator, Arthur, who plays a pivotal role in securing Daniel’s release.
"Grandmother" is a highly romanticized autobiographical novel by a Czech 19th century writer, Bozena Nemcova. It's a classical, compulsory reading in Czech schools, about a wise, working-class woman, happier in her simplicity and good heart than the nobles whom she serves.
