An unemployed investor creates a fictious business partner to attempt to improve business. Eventually, his creation gets out of control as his business becomes successful and his wife announces that she is in love with the partner and his son wishes the partner was his father - although no one has ever seen him. To regain control, the man decides to "kill" his imaginary partner and is arrested for the murder.

With the help of his Sesame Street friends, Big Bird leads Snuffy on a fun-filled trip through the alphabet. Cookie Monster sings the praises of "C" (for "cookie," of course), while Oscar loves "I" and "icky ice cream cones." Special guest Lena Horne joins in on all the musical fun as well. This third edition of 'The Very Best of the Muppet Show' is a collection of three Muppet Show episodes. In the 'Linda Carter Episode', Wonder Woman inspires Fozzie, Scooter and other cast members to become apprentice heroes. In the 'Diana Ross Episode', the soul diva helps Kermit win over a tough crowd, shows Fozzie how to tell a joke and performs 'Love Hangover' and 'Reach Out and Touch'. Finally in the 'Johnny Cash Episode', the country singer joins Kermit and friends for a live radio show on Muppet station WHOG and sings some favourites like 'Orange Blossom Special' and 'Ghost Riders in the Sky'.

When the Muppets graduate from Danhurst College, they take their song-filled senior revue to New York City, only to learn that it isn't easy to find a producer who's willing to back a show starring a frog and a pig. Of course, Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy won't take no for an answer, launching a search for someone to take them to Broadway.
