If It’s Not Now, Then When? mostly takes place in an apartment inhabited by three members of a family (though never at the same time): mother Pearlly Chua (from Tsai Ming-liang’s I Don’t Want to Sleep Alone), daughter Tan Bee Hung and young son Kenny Gan. Their father seems recently to have died. The mother leaves early and returns late, out on long walks in the park with a lover whom the daughter and her best friend try to spy on. The daughter pecks away at a computer at work and has a desultory affair with her married boss, which he carries on between his business and family phone calls. And the son breaks into cars and “recycles” the electronics he finds.

Jiang Xue, a well-known investigative journalist, began an in-depth investigation into the political injustice that happened in his hometown nearly half a century ago. "Xue‘s investigation" was one of Jiang Xue's main self-media at the time, but it was suspended in a short period of time because of the depth and sharpness of the work and the courage to reveal the truth of the incident. During the filming by Jiang Xue, the video version of "Snow Visit" produced by Tiger Temple was only made in the first phase of the film and one person (Xiang Chengjian) died prematurely, making it a precious historical film.

"Chang Jiang is a boy of passiveness. He was sent to a Rehab Center because of his addiction of Internet and fell in love there. After five months of treating, he was “healed” and went back to the real word where he found himself lost and incapable of dealing with real relations when he fell in love for a real girl. One night, he sneaked out to an Internet bar while his mother was asleep. But it has been too long that he hadn’t been online, his once online-lover has disappeared. A young girl Pui and her father live together leaning on each other for support, but they still feel lonely and insecure. At the same time, the young girl is haunted by the death of her mother. After small accidents, she magically starts to walks into an Another World over and over again, where memories and realities intertwined, but she has no idea whether it’s a dreamworld, or a ghost land.
