Aleksandar Đurica

Profile

Aleksandar Đurica is a Serbian actor. He was 22 years old when the war started. Over the course of the war, he studied acting at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad and participated in street demonstrations against the war and the regime of Slobodan Milosevic. In his 15-year career, Djurica has worked steadily in film, TV and theater, in Vojvodina and Belgrade. He has received several awards for his work, and in 2008 he was nominated for best actor at the festival Grand Off, European Off Film Awards, for his work on the Milos Pusic's film "Lullaby for the Boy." He currently lives in Belgrade, where he is a member of National Theatre. Born : 1st-Nov-1969

Menagerie

"Menagerie" is a drama which takes place in the early 1990s, in one Serbian village near the coast of river Drina. Srna, daughter of Strain, the most powerful man in the village, is promised for a wife to Jovan. Jovan is the son of a local forester Tadija, who, in return, allows Strain poaching and illegal cutting of village wood. Although there is attraction between Srna and Jovan, they still don't want to be married by the wish of their fathers. Suddenly Petar, the ex-forester who was seven years in jail for killing Strain's older son, returns to the village. His return changes lives of all characters in this story indicating the uncertain end of it.

The Party
