Karolina Slunéčková, (born Karolína Olga Slunéčková) (8 April 1934 – 11 June 1983), working under the name Olga Sluníčková, was a Czech actress, and wife of actor Rudolf Vodrážka. She moved with her parents to Ústí nad Labem. During the occupation of the Sudetenland by the German population, they were not able to emigrate, so throughout the war they went to the German school. The essence of the acting was handed over by Professor Věra Petáková. When her love and passion for playing did not calm down during the years and her dream was not able to talk to her, she went to study in Českých Budějovic, where she studied at Theatre Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts (DAMU). As they question these “práškaři,” they uncover a network of illicit sales and potential motives tied to debts and blackmail. To prepare, organize and execute the exchange of twelve apartments is a work worthy champions. Radosta, who was excellently played by Rudolf Hrušínský, solved all sudden difficulties and complications on the fly and with grace. To be sure that the on the D-day everything goes well he prepares a little rehearsal, which reveals many minor issues caused for example by wedding ordered to inappropriate term or hesitation of some participants. Last but not least a night exercise announced by drunk psychologist Knotků, creates a lot of confusion that nearly sabotaged the whole operation.

Divoký koník Ryn

Several of the works of writer Bohumil Říha have been filmed. This novel by the pro-regime writer also inspired a children’s film, which was directed in 1981 by the experienced family filmmaker Václav Gajer. The story takes place in 1947 and it is based on the popular model of the relationship between a human hero and an indomitable animal protagonist. The tale of the freedom necessary for life, is, of course, beholden to the standards of the time: the Hucul horse that heals an old villager, has remained in the small village in Šumava after the Soviet soldiers have left. This is a pleasing movie that engages with the acting performance of Zdeněk Řehoř and the depiction of the indisputable beauty of the Šumava landscape as shot by cameraman Jan Němeček.

Lucerna

The television version of Lucerna premiered on Christmas Eve 1967, and each rerun only confirms that it is an excellent production.

A Killer on the Tracks

An escort composed of three people transports a huge amount of new one-hundred crown banknotes in a special railway car. At the 196th kilometer, a village girl is waiting at the railway crossing and spots two men removing some packages from the track. The scene is immediately followed by the report of a gun and the unwanted witness is shot dead. Soon afterwards, on the 201st kilometer, the train explodes. Only one of the escorts Lenk (Radoslav Brzobohatý) survives the explosion, taken to hospital with serious injuries. Criminologist Major Kalas (Jirí Sovák) and the very young Second Lieutenant Karlícek (Jaromír Hanzlík) patiently gather facts, leads and testimonies.

Recently, however, Eva met her former school-days love at a graduates' party, nowadays a famous hockey goalkeeper Brukner (Frantisek Velecký). Also his marriage fell apart; he leaves the national team and decides to leave Prague for his home town and to share flat with Eva.
