Profile

Ayu Azhari, is an Indonesian actress, singer, model, and politician. She made her feature film début in 1984 in "Akibat Buah Terlarang". Director Teguh Karya, who saw her in the film, adopted her as a protégée. Her first role for him was as a minor character in the stage drama "Pernikahan Darah", in which the director badgered her for not carrying her voice. In 1986 she played in Karya's film "Ibunda". She took a small role in Karya's last feature film, "Pacar Ketinggalan Kereta" in 1989. In 1990, Azhari received a Citra Award for Best Supporting Actress at the Indonesian Film Festival for her role in "Dua Kekasih". By the early 2000s, Azhari was one of the highest paid television stars in Indonesia. In 2003, Azhari wrote a book on the dangers of voyeurism. Born : 19th-Nov-1968

Badut-Badut Kota

Through this story, the director, Chairul Raya, attempts to depict the way of life of the poor, while using the subplot of the love story between the clown and his wife to display his disdain for the mainstream tendencies in the Indonesian film industry. This film is at once moving and humorous.

They are being chased by a crowd, when, in their attempt to get away, they end up in a storehouse full of stolen gold. They grab some gold, but when they try to get away with the ill-gotten goods, they fall into a river. The only thing they end up with is an angry robber intent on hunting them down.

Surgaku Nerakaku

A naive village girl, Ani (Ayu Azhari), takes a job in a karaoke club in the city after meeting Susana (Yurike Prastica). At the karaoke club, Ani attracts unwanted affections from the owner, Robert (Torro Margens). Ani escapes this dilemma when she does, finally, find Rudy. Together, they set up a small business selling ready-made clothes. Robert refuses to give up. He sends some men to beat up Rudy, and even assigns Susana to try to break up Rudy and Ani. Susana is successful. Ani then goes to work with Prasetyo (Willy Dozan), whom she met when she was in the garment business. The relationship between Ani and Prasetyo becomes serious, and they marry. However, Rudy, who is living with Susana, attempts to blackmail Ani with his knowledge of her past involvement with the karaoke club.

Together with her sister, she kills Harun, and also Daniel, the other kidnapper. Despite this, Handy still offers his love to Lia.
