Jerry Tarkanian

Jerry Tarkanian was an American basketball coach who coached college basketball for 31 seasons over five decades at three schools. He spent the majority of his career coaching the UNLV Runnin’ Rebels, leading them four times to the Final Four of the NCAA Division I men’s basketball tournament and winning the national championship in 1990.1 Tarkanian was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2013, becoming the first UNLV coach or player to be enshrined. Led by 'Tark the Shark' and a rotating group of future NBA stars, the team became a dynasty as they went on to four NCAA Final Fours, winning one NCAA title in 1990, before collapsing in scandal and controversy.
