The "Hamlet" in this well-mounted Italian spoof is the Danish prince, not a small town or village. The movie irreverently draws on both the Shakespeare play and the 1877 story by Jules Laforgue. In the story, Hamlet (Carmelo Bene) is a would-be playwright. He suffers from inept Freudian analysis by Polonius (Pippo Tuminelli), and Ophelia and Gertrude (Isabella Russo & Luciana Cante) are women conjured up in his erotic imagination.

A Rather Complicated Girl

Having casually overheard a confusing phone conversation between two women, Alberto manages to get in touch with one of the callers, Claudia, a painter. The two become lovers and things are spiced up by Claudia's ambiguous sexual nature and by the presence of her former lover, Pietro. Alberto discovers a pistol in Claudia's handbag and this leads to a further revelation: she's dominated by her stepmother Greta, who forced her into a clandestine lesbian relationship; of which Claudia is ashamed and wants to end - at all costs. Alberto, now a slave to love, runs Greta over. But Claudia denies urging him to murder...

Margherita, a regular girl just about to turn thirty, has got a life and a normal job, a boyfriend whom she loves and a she did not get any strange ideas. Her existence is disrupted by the death of her beloved grandmother who had raised her. The old woman was hiding a secret that had torn her soul for years: discovering what happened to her mother, a young actress in twenties, disappeared during the shooting of a film directed by a madman named Agenore Venturi. After the grandmother's funeral, Margherita begins to have terrifying visions and fears to going crazy. Even her boyfriend begins to doubt her sanity. The visions are increasingly disturbing and Margherita decides to seek help from a priest, her confidant. The man reveals to her something terrible about Venturi's past. After overcoming many misfortunes, Margherita succeeded in finding copy of the film that was supposed to be lost. The vision of those images reveals a truth that had to remain buried in the oblivion of time.

Girolamo Savonarola - La vita di Leonardo da Vinci — in English, The Life of Leonardo da Vinci — is a 1971 Italian television miniseries dramatizing the life of the Italian Renaissance polymath Leonardo da Vinci. The Golden Globe-winning miniseries was directed by Renato Castellani, and produced by RAI and distributed in the United States by CBS, which aired it from August 13, 1972 to September 10, 1972. Castellani wrote the screenplay. It was filmed entirely on location in Italy and France. The total runtime of the five episodes is nearly five hours.
