Dieter Mann war von 1964 bis 2006 festes Mitglied im Ensemble des Deutschen Theaters in Berlin. Von 1984 bis 1991 war er Intendant des Deutschen Theaters und holte unter anderem Frank Castorf und Heiner Müller als Regisseure an das Haus. Engagements als Gastschauspieler führten ihn an das Deutsche Schauspielhaus Hamburg, das Schauspiel Frankfurt, die Wiener Festwochen, die Sächsische Staatsoper Dresden sowie an das Staatsschauspiel Dresden, die Bregenzer Festspiele, das Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus und das Wiener Burgtheater. Two Strange Characters

Frank and Kamminke study informatics in Leipzig and have developed a program that enables a computer to automatically find and correct errors in its software. Freshly graduated, they are relocated to a remote Thuringian village after causing a computer breakdown. There, they are supposed to work in a small company that has no clue of economic management. The rather helpful computer system from West Germany plainly lacks compatible software. But Frank and Kamminke are not allowed to work with the hardware, although it is them who could make most out of the complex system. Eventually, and with the help of consultant Petra whom both are in love with, they break into the system control room on New Year′s Eve and start up the computer with their special program.

Georg Brecher, journalist and casual writer, leads a report into the uranium mining of bismuth. Under the impression of hard work underground and the encounter with the mates, Brecher rethinks his previous life. Ulrich Thein's film was created in the context of cultural political balding after the 11th Plenum of the Central Committee of the SED in December 1965, which meant a clear turning point in the youth and cultural policy of the GDR: numerous films, plays, books and music groups banned. The filming of "Columbus 64" also had to be interrupted and it took months for Thein to be let back to the film. Thein's arguments with his film to show the "revolutionary society development" in the GDR did not help, because after completion, his work fell victim to censorship: it was shortened, re-synchronised and offered after a unique broadcast in the GDR.

The prosecuting attorney Baller has also been a former member of the anarchistic scene. He does not want his past to be revealed by Karin′s apprehension and prosecution. Thus, he asks Kappel to find Karin and sneak her out to a foreign country.

Downfall

This leads to all kinds of confusion and mix-ups, to which Uncle Ewald, whose motto is "If you have worries, you need a liqueur", and his daughter Gisela, the "model", as well as Peter's neighbor, the amateur nude photographer Konrad Förster, intentionally and unintentionally contribute. So it will be interesting to see whether the "hero" of the play, Peter Schönfeld, can still say at the end: "Yes, that's the kind of man I am!".

In exchange for a bottle of champagne to mark the shock, the sweet chocolate man switches to Ilse's divorced husband, who is drawn back into the bosom of the family at the same time every year.

A kind-hearted police officer tries to get him a place at an orphanage in Thuringia, but on the way there, he is picked up by the SS and sent to a training camp.

At a party meeting in Nuremberg, the people cheer him on. But then the journey takes him into the lion's den: on the Obersalzberg he meets Hitler and finally "his" wife Magda. Harry risks everything to save Grete.
