Shuji Kondo

Shuji Kondo (近藤修司, Kondō Shūji) is a Japanese professional wrestler. Prior to becoming a pro wrestler, he played rugby. After starting his career in Toryumon, Kondo eventually joined All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW), where he became one of the promotion's top junior heavyweights, winning the World Junior Heavyweight Championship three times and the All Asia Tag Team Championship once. Upon leaving AJPW in 2013, Kondo joined Wrestle-1, where he became half of the inaugural Wrestle-1 Tag Team Champions. Kondo also worked as the vice president, booker and trainer for Wrestle-1 until it's closure in 2020.[1][2] He now works as a freelancer in promotions like Pro Wrestling Basara and Dragon Gate. It was the 16th January 4 Tokyo Dome Show and the first held under the new "Wrestle Kingdom" name. The show marked the 35th-anniversary celebration for NJPW, who teamed up with one-time rival promotion AJPW to produce the show.

TNA One Night Only: Global IMPACT Japan 2014

On March 2, 2014, 14 TNA wrestlers were part of a TNA/Wrestle-1 supershow in Tokyo, Japan. TNA taped the event to air as a One Night Only pay-per-view. The TNA World Heavyweight, X Division and World Tag Team Championships were all defended during the event. The event also featured several matches not involving TNA wrestlers, dubbed "Part 1".
