The recording is of the original broadcast of Duran Duran performing at the Palladium in New York City, USA on December 31, 1982. This was the 2nd Annual MTV New Year's Rock 'n' Roll Ball. Originally aired on MTV, the show was also simulcast on FM radio for the King Biscuit Flower Hour. Duran Duran were the headline act at the Palladium, a venue located on the south side of East 14th Street, between Irving Place and 3rd Avenue.
