Two peasants are ill-prepared for life in the big city after moving from their tiny village to Bombay.

Satinder (Annu Kapoor), a film director with big dreams of working with famous stars, teams up with his friend Amar (Manoj Joshi), a struggling film writer, to find someone who can invest in their new film project. As the story unfolds, it takes us through a whirlwind of confusion, emotional moments, and loads of comedy.

Ishaan Awasthi is an eight-year-old whose world is filled with wonders that no one else seems to appreciate. After a group of friends graduate from Delhi University, they listlessly haunt their old campus, until a British filmmaker casts them in a film she's making about freedom fighters under British rule. Although the group is largely apolitical, the tragic death of a friend owing to local government corruption awakens their patriotism. Inspired by the freedom fighters they represent in the film, the friends collectively decide to avenge the killing.

When Siddharth lands in India from the US, ghosts from his youth loom up. He finally overcomes the complications and sets right all the wrongs done in his past & rediscovers bonds of friendship.I n the end Siddharth goes back to New York a better man; reconciled with his past & most importantly rediscovering a happier today. He returns to New York with the belief that friendship is indeed like Purani Jeans, the older the better!!
