A dishy dolly of a brunette hitchhikes while taking lunch to her blacksmith husband. She gets a ride from a dastardly masher once she shows some leg. When she resists the cad's advances, she blackens his eye and gets tied to the railway tracks in revenge. The bird on Nellie's hat plays the key role in her rescue. Nellie's rescuer, a big burly Swede, is a classic sissified hunk- big on brawn and sporting effeminate good looks, but clueless what to do with the leading lady when she wants to give him his reward "kiss."

Krazy is a taxidermist. A tough customer comes into his shop and tells Krazy to "Stuff this fish, and make it look like a bird." Poor intimidated Krazy starts to work but gets knocked out. He begins to have a nightmare about all the animals he's stuffed in the past. The animals put Krazy on trial. He pleads with them, singing "I ain't gonna stuff no more." He runs but is chased by the animals until he wakes up hopping mad because of his nightmare. He's still so mad when the tough customer comes back in that he takes the fish and begins to beat the customer with it. The customer then flees.

Dauntless Dan’s infatuation with an tree he has named Sylvia. Dan is a hero on a fool’s crusade. He is filled with self-absorption, admiring his reflection in a pond while declaring “You can’t turn Sylvia into toothpicks!”

Mule is useless for Italian fruit seller, so seller gives mule to Lil' Eightball, who also cannot get the mule going.

Dennis and Catherine are having casual conversation when a "bear" — actually a mysterious man dressed in a fully yellow business suit — invades their apartment asking them for food.
