The Grasshopper and the Ants

Warpaint played a set for Nigel Godrich's "From The Basement" series. The Californian four piece played a seven-song set, mostly pulling from their 2022 album Radiate Like This (including opening trio "Champion," "Hips," and "Hard To Tell You"), plus "Bees" from their 2010 debut The Fool and "Keep It Healthy" from their 2014 self-titled album.

In the vestibule of a hospital room, a young boy waits to see his dying mother. The clamor and spiralling movements of bodies around him intensify, forming a grotesque circus—a cacophonous circle that pushes the child back, depriving him of one final touch of his mother's hand. Using rotoscoped drawings suggestive of charcoal sketches, as well as 3D and object animation techniques, The Circus compels viewing with its unsettling realism. Colour is employed metaphorically to subtly express the promise and the memory of maternal affection. Nicolas Brault's highly personal film, suffused with poetic modesty, casts a poignantly sincere gaze on the heartbreak of a child facing the fearful, mysterious experience of his mother's death.

A matchbox collection unites a lonely woman and her cat.

Two students compete in a high school presidential election, and we see how one student's vote can change everything. This short film promotes the importance of voting and educate young viewers on how to vote. This film is brought to you by young filmmakers who directed, produced, and wrote the project.

She and Her Cat details the life of a cat, entirely from the cat's perspective, as it passes time with its owner, a young woman.

196X. Anna, an enigmatic and attractive professional kidnapper, abducts The Professor during his wedding ceremony on request from one of the latter's former girlfriend. This woman, whose face Anna has never seen, wishes to die with The Professor before he marries. Leaving the church with The Professor on the back seat of her motor-bike, Anna starts on the journey to the fictional city of 'Alpha Paris'.
