Christmas with The Chosen: The Messengers

Bobby Griffith was his mother's favorite son, the perfect all-American boy growing up under deeply religious influences in Walnut Creek, California. Bobby was also gay. Struggling with a conflict no one knew of, much less understood, Bobby finally came out to his family.

Kingdom of Hawaii, 1866. Fearful that leprosy would spread throughout the archipelago, the king banishes the sick to the island of Molokai. In 1873, the Belgian Catholic missionary Damien de Veuster arrives on the island to help improve the lives of its unfortunate inhabitants.

The metal band As I Lay Dying perform a number of songs culled from various concerts on this release. The song list includes live renditions of "Falling Upon Deaf Ears," "The Darkest Nights," "An Ocean Between Us," and "The Sound of Truth." This title also includes a documentary about the band, as well as a number of music videos.

28 songs filmed entirely with handheld cameras by Pearl Jam crew members across 19 different cities from the bands' 2000 North American tour. Going to see Nutcracker with the whole family has been a tradition in other countries for many years. Now it is a tradition in the Netherlands as well. It became apparent that the Netherlands had also adopted this tradition in 1996, when the Dutch National Ballet presented its own version of the famous fairytale ballet. It is a magical production that has won the hearts of more than 250,000 people to date. Choreographers Toer van Schayk and Wayne Eagling created a Nutcracker for the children and adults of today. It is more dynamic and exciting, and less sweet than usual. They also chose to give a Dutch twist to their interpretation of the story, with skaters on the canals and a living room that transforms into a snowy forest. Unlike the original story, the production by Eagling and Van Schayk (who also designed the delightful sets and costumes) does not take place on Christmas Eve in a German town, but during St. Nicholas celebrations in Amsterdam, around 1810.

An illegal Dominican immigrant and a lonely Spanish farmer start a love affair. Juanita and Mariano, who in Spain clung to each other like two castaways to a raft, will try not to drown in Santo Domingo this Christmas.
