Cleo Rocos

Profile

Born in Brazil to an English mother and Greek father, Cleo Rocos shot to fame in the 1980s with the BBC series The Kenny Everett Television Show. Her glamorous and curvaceous figure was often used to comic effect and she proved the perfect foil to Kenny, appearing alongside him in the science quiz series Brainstorm, playing a white-coated lab assistant in 1988 and his film Bloodbath at the House of Death in 1984. Since Everett's death from AIDS in 1995, Rocos has published her memoir about working with him, Bananas Forever - Kenny and Me and appeared in several celebrity reality TV productions. She is also a producer, travel journalist, radio DJ, presenter and a businesswoman, launching her own premium brand of tequila called AquaRiva in 2012, made from 100% 'Weber Azul' agave Born : 24th-Jul-1966

Sex Actually

Colombian Luccio and his girlfriend Angie move into a respectable part of Berkshire, learning that Ron and Helen, the previous owners of their house, died mysteriously. Angie discovers that their neighbours, estate agent Roy and his wife Jane, high court judge Charles and his bickering wife Carol and Bilbo, a conceptual artist and his partner were all members of a wife-swapping circle who usually met at Ron and Helen's house. Luccio reveals himself to be a policeman and is curious as to how Ron and Helen died, lining up all the suspects.

One Chance in Four

Play which examines the conflict between the generations of a Greek-Cypriot family. Dimitri and Trulla are to be married. All seems well for the newly-weds, but there is a mystery surrounding Trulla's cousin Janni. An element of the play concerns the genetically-inherited disease thalassaemia. One effect of the disease is that survivors continue to have the appearance of 14-year-olds, even in their 20s. Due to the impossibility of simulating this, thalassaemic patients take part in the play.

Hole in the Wall

- Hole in the Wall was a game show that aired on BBC One in the United Kingdom. This game was an adaptation of the Japanese game Brain Wall in which, players must contort themselves to fit through cutout holes of varying shapes in a large polystyrene wall moving towards them as they stand in front of a swimming pool. Each week, two teams of television personalities compete for £10,000 in prize money to be donated to their chosen charity. Dale Winton served as the original host while Strictly Come Dancing ballroom dancer Anton du Beke and former international cricketer Darren Gough were the team captains for the first series. Additionally, Jonathan Pearce comments on the replays and Peter Dickson provides the opening voice-over. The wall is activated by the presenter shouting Bring on the wall!. On 3 July 2008, the BBC announced that the show had been commissioned for BBC One. A second series was confirmed, with Anton du Beke giving up his captain role to take over from Dale Winton as host, and new team captains in the shape of former rugby player Austin Healey and actor Joe Swash. Anton du Beke has announced he may be a guest as well as hosting on the last show of the series.

The Glam Metal Detectives

- The Glam Metal Detectives is a comedy show produced by the BBC in 1995. Shown on BBC2 on Thursday nights at 9pm, it combined both sketch and sitcom elements, As with other shows launched in this timeslot, The Glam Metal Detectives attempted to innovate and combine genres, resulting in an off-the-wall mix of the sublime and the surreal which broke new ground with its 'multimedia' approach. The show consists of a single series of seven episodes. The scripts were written by the cast, and director Peter Richardson, and the series starred Gary Beadle, Phil Cornwell, Doon Mackichan, Sara Stockbridge, George Yiasoumi, and Mark Caven. The show was designed to appear as if the viewer was channel surfing through a multi-channel wasteland, happening upon spoof adverts, short sketches, and recurring show elements. Like other BBC content of the mid-1990s, it often lampooned the low-budget quality of satellite television available in the UK at the time.
