Samuel Roy Hagar, born October 13, 1947 in Monterey, California, better known as Sammy Hagar (The Red Rocker), is an American guitarist, singer and songwriter and former member of the Van Halen band. Sammy Hagar began his career in the Montrose group, before joining Van Halen in 1985 until 1996. In 2004, he returned to Van Halen for an event tour in the United States. In 2009, he joined the Chickenfoot project, composed of Joe Satriani, Chad Smith and Michael Anthony. Sammy Hagar was the 1984 singer of the supergroup H.S.A.S. with Neal Schon, Kenny Aaronson and Michael Shrieve, the band's name with the initials of the four musicians' last names. Heart and Friends: Home For The Holidays

Hearts Ann and Nancy Wilson returned to their hometown of Seattle to stage a celebration of the Christmas season, gathering a few of their friends to join them in singing holiday classics, personal favorites and some of their own hits. Special guests Shawn Colvin, Sammy Hagar, Richard Marx and Pat Monahan from Train joined HEART for this once-in-a-lifetime concert, which was taped on Dec. 12 2013 at the beautiful Benaroya Symphony Concert Hall in Seattle. The Wilson sisters performed an array of holiday songs written by Joni Mitchell, Harry Nilsson, Bob Dylan and Hagar in their Christmas set as well as some of HEART s favorite songs. Colvin, Hagar, Marx and Monahan provided additional vocals on the tunes and/or sing duets with Heart.

The Long Road to Cabo is a delightful documentary about rock & roll fellowship, featuring Sammy Hagar as the founder of a summer-long feast of heavy metal, Van Halen memories, and many bared female bosoms (in Hagar's audiences, that is). Looking more like a mellow, mid-life surfer than hairy rock icon from the 1980s, the ever-expansive Hagar leads the Waboritas through a long, hot 2002 tour, sharing a bill with David Lee Roth, Hagar's co-outcast from Van Halen. Despite their shared ignominy, Roth rebuffs Hagar's efforts at collaboration, or at least camaraderie, resulting in a competitive and entertainingly catty atmosphere.
