Ottaviano Dell'Acqua

Profile

Born to a family of other actors and stunt performers, Ottaviano Dell'Acqua started acting in Italian Spaghetti Western productions as a child. Due to his boyish looks and enthusiasm for taking risks, he found himself more and more in demand as both a stunt performer and character actor throughout the 1970's, often appearing alongside one or more of his siblings (Roberto, Alberto, and Arnoldo). In the 1980's he turned to stunt coordinating and has worked steadily on both major Hollywood productions, as well as smaller European films, ever since. He may be best remembered by horror fans as the man behind the worm-eyed zombie mask on the poster for Lucio Fulci's ZOMBIE (aka ZOMBI 2) though has possibly the most mainstream exposure in GANGS OF NEW YORK as one of Bill the Butcher's lead henchmen. His only leading roles have been under the name "Richard Raymond" for director Bruno Mattei, particularly in 1983's RATS: THE NIGHTS OF TERROR in which he is top-billed. Curiously the same year he appeared in numerous other post-apocalyptic films (RAGE and AFTER THE FALL OF NEW YORK) in which he isn't billed at all. Born : 13th-Mar-1954

Fear in the City

The film focuses on Murri; the token maverick cop. He is called in after a bunch of criminals pull off a successful prison break and spend the night picking off various informers and people they don't like. Murri investigates; hooking up with one of the criminal's nieces along the way. He uses his own methods; which mostly involve breaking all the rules, and thus comes under a lot of scrutiny from his superiors who don't take too kindly to the cop's way of working.

The Rebel

"Poliziotti solitudine e rabbia" or "Ein Mann namens Venedig" (A Man called Venice), as it was called in Germany, is an Italian-German crime drama co-production from 1979, filmed mainly in the snowy winter of bleak West-Berlin. Italian cop Nick, played by gangster movie veteran Maurizio Merli, goes to Berlin to find the head of an International European blackmailing gang who has murdered several people. He investigates undercover as a contract killer for the gangsters, but of course becomes immediately the target of his enemies and has to fight hard to save his life...

Tuareg: Desert Warrior

In a desolate section of the Sahara once ruled by the French, two thirsty men stumble into the camp of a Tuareg warrior where they're given water and shelter. Soldiers from the new Arab government now arrive by Jeep and demand the two men be turned over to them. The warrior refuses, citing the sacred laws of hospitality. The soldiers shoot dead one of the men and carry off the other - a political foe of the new government. The warrior mounts his camel and rides off to rescue his kidnapped guest.

Days of Hell

This fast-paced film stars (Conrad Nichols) as the tough Captain Williams, head of a crack commando squad who goes into Afghanistan to save the U.S.S.R. -- and indirectly, the U.S. -- from some very bad publicity. A journalist and his daughter have evidence that the Russians are using biological and chemical weapons in their war in Afghanistan. The unit of five commandos smuggle themselves into Afghanistan through its neighbor Iran, bribing the leaders of that country with some spare parts for its war planes (shades of Iran-Contra!). Once inside the country they discover that the journalist has already died from exposure to nerve gas, and his daughter is already getting sick.
