Thomas, in his forties, holds an important post in a slaughterhouse. He is engaged to Marie-Rose, the daughter of the director, whom he hopes to follow later. In a routine examination in the hospital, however, he finds out that he has cancer and his days are counted. The upheaval that he suffers as a result, however, does not take long, his decision is certain: he will use the short time to clean up some bad guys. What else can he do now?

On October 24th, a concert named "Yellow River Ballad—Wild Children Band 20th Anniversary Concert," organized by Shu Music, will be held at the Workers' Gymnasium in Beijing. It will feature an extravagant lineup of folk music's golden generation, including Wan Xiaoli, Xiaohe, Zhou Yunpeng, Wu Tun, Hu Defu, and the "King of Chinese Rock Stage," Xie Tianxiao, taking turns to witness and participate in this extraordinary musical event. In addition to Beijing, the Wild Children Band's 20th-anniversary concert will also take place on a grand stage in Shanghai. However, the significance of the Wild Children band within the folk music community over the past twenty years far exceeds the significance of this performance.

Alan Johnson MP (and former postman) tells the story of 500 years of the Royal Mail, and discovers how the humble British postal system changed the course of British history. Alan started out as a postman in London when he was 18, in 1968. He would eventually rise to become general secretary of the Communication Workers Union before being elected as an MP. So the post office changed his life, and set him on the path to parliament.
