Well I have to thank this film for one thing: I now know what a palimpsest is! John Newland ("Algy") get a chance to step up a bit more in this engaging crime drama based around some mysterious lead soldiers - each depicting different figures from history. He, and his boss "Drummond" (Tom Conway) temporarily swap identities before being brought into the mystery when a man is murdered, and his two wee sculptures are pinched. What gives? Well it doesn't take our dynamic duo long before they discover that there are actually eleven more of these metal blighters, and together with an accompanying parchment they could reveal a hidden treasure. Maria Palmer ("Estelle") brings a little intrigue to the proceedings and Harry Cording reprises his oft-visited role as the man with the menace. I think this is one of the better "Bulldog Drummond" adventures. It's well enough paced and Newland and Conway work well together with a gentle humour and bit of help from their disdainful Scotland Yard ally "Insp. McIver" (Gordon Richards) to create quite an enjoyable treasure hunt with quite a strong (if terribly lit) denouement.
The invention of a machine that can cause remote explosions brings the attention of Scotland Yard and Bulldog Drummond.
Drummond's girlfriend is kidnapped by his enemies and he along with his friend Nielsen, an inspector from Scotland Yard, follow the trail and try to rescue her from the kidnappers.
Drummond manages to save a woman from jumping in front of his car but she runs away with his car. He traces her and she asks him to help her out of a dangerous situation.
"Bulldog" Drummond is vacationing in his country home in England, and his house if rifled by two thieves. After they leave he finds a card marked with some mysterious letters. Doris Meredith comes by the next day, pretending her car has broken down. Drummond knows better but plays along with her. Drummond calls Scotland Yard Inspector Holmes, and is informed that some of the letters comprise the code-name for a Yard-man who disappeared while carrying some diamonds from France to England. Doris tells Drummond the man is her brother. Drummond uses a decoy to lure the thieves out of hiding, but they adduct Doris.
Captain Hugh 'Bulldog' Drummond investigates the murder of the C.I.D. man who had been tracing validity of rival claims to a large estate.
Captain Drummond and his girlfriend want to marry but a hidden treasure in the house in which they want to celebrate their marriage is complicating the situation involving a series of deaths and an elusive murderer.
Bulldog Drummond forms a gang to rescue his wife and thwart his nemesis, Carl Peterson.
Captain Drummond is travelling to Switzerland to marry his girlfriend. However, when a cargo containing dangerous explosives goes missing from its place, Drummond is forced to delay his plans.
Drummond's wedding with Phyllis is interrupted when the inspector guarding their gifts is killed. He tries to trace the killers and uncovers the mystery of diamond counterfeiters.
While filling in for injured supersleuth Bulldog Drummond (Atholl Fleming), world-class cricket player Jack Pennington (Jack Hulbert) attempts to foil a criminal mastermind's (Ralph Richardson) impending heist that's targeting a valuable jewel necklace held within the British Museum. This comedic 1930s mystery features daring rescues, intense fistfights and an exciting edge-of-your seat finale aboard a runaway train.
Bulldog Drummond finds himself immersed in another adventure when he stumbles upon a corpse in the mysterious London mansion of Prince Achmed. Enlisting the help of his old friend Algy and the beautiful Lola, Drummond uncovers a scheme to ship illegal cargo into the country. He must rely on his cunning to survive when the prince offers a reward for his capture.
