A touching story of a deaf girl who is sent to an oil rig to take care of a man who has been blinded in a terrible accident. After the death of her husband, the mother of Julie, Jack, Sue and Tom begins to suffer from a mysterious illness. Soon Tom has taken to dressing as a girl whilst Sue has become increasingly reticent, confiding only to her diary, meanwhile Jack and Julie sense an attraction developing for each other. However Julie's new beau, Derek, threatens to unearth the many dark secrets within this family as he becomes increasingly suspicious of Jack.

Juan and Pilar return to Mexico City on the same train. Destiny cross their paths in a taxi stop, off the train station. A cab arrives and they take each other's baggage by mistake.
