Betsy Jones-Moreland

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Betsy Jones-Moreland (April 1, 1930 – May 1, 2006) was an American actress. She was born as Mary Elizabeth Jones in Brooklyn, New York, and began her career in small roles in the mid-1950s, appearing in several Roger Corman films, including a lead role in Last Woman on Earth (1960). Subsequently she appeared mostly on television through 1975. She guest-starred in an episode of the television series Ironside starring Raymond Burr and in the early 1990s appeared in a recurring role as a judge in a series of his "Perry Mason" television films. Ms Jones-Moreland starred as "Topaz", a saloon hostess who befriended Paladin in the episode "Brother"s Keeper" that aired 05/06/1961. She died in El Monte, California from cancer at age 76. Perry Mason: The Case of the Glass Coffin

David Katz is a world famous magician and he comes to Denver with his group to perform for a charity gala for disabled children. Also there is Perry and Della as all three are supporters of the charity. Kate Ford, an assistant with an arrogant attitude, tells David that she is, from now on, going to do an illusion in which an assistant is raised in a glass coffin only to disappear when the coffin is opened up in the air (while the assistant climbs out before the coffin is raised.) After a one night stand with David, Kate is pregnant and she blackmails David with this. David and his wife Judy can't have children so that comes as a double blow to them. However Kate, with her attitude, creates much hatred at her from the rest of the group. At the gala, the glass coffin is raised but when it opens Kate's dead body falls to the ground - strangled.

Perry Mason: The Case of the Telltale Talk Show Host

Dr Sheila Carlin is good friends with Della who calls Perry in when she is being pestered by someone. On the theory that it could be somebody that she works with at a radio stations she arranges Perry to be interviewed by Winslow Keene who is also the station's owner. Winslow enrages the rest of the talk show hosts on the station by informing them of changes that he is making to their time slots. That night, Winslow is shot by a hit man hired by someone at the station and Sheila is set up for the murder. She calls in Perry and as usual Perry, Della and Ken swing into action to find out who really did it.

Route 66

- Route 66 is an American TV series in which two young men traveled across America in a Chevrolet Corvette sports car. The show ran weekly on Fridays on CBS from October 7, 1960 to March 20, 1964. It starred Martin Milner as Tod Stiles and, for the first two and a half seasons, George Maharis as Buz Murdock. Maharis was ill for much of the third season, during which time Tod was shown traveling on his own. Tod met Lincoln Case, played by Glenn Corbett, late in the third season, and traveled with him until the end of the fourth and final season. Among the series more notable aspects were the featured Corvette convertible, and the program's instrumental theme song, which became a major pop hit.

Morning Star

- Morning Star is a daytime soap opera which aired on NBC from September 27, 1965 to July 1, 1966. The show was created by Ted Corday who created the long-running soap opera Days of our Lives. The show aired at 11:00 AM; it was paired with Paradise Bay which aired after it and also was created by Ted Corday. Morning Star was one of the first soap operas to air in color. The show followes Katy Elliot who was a fashion designer from Connecticut; she moved to New York City to begin work in her chosen field. The show followed her trials and tribulations along with her roommates Joan Mitchell and Joan's daughter Liz. Katy had left her hometown of Springdale after the death of Greg Ross, her fiance, who had been killed in a traffic accident before they were to have been married. In New York, Katy met and fell in love with Bill Riley, She also had contact her her aunt Millie Elliot; her uncle, Ed Elliot, who was a judge in Springdale; and her sixteen year old sister, Jan. Like Days of our Lives, the show opened with an epigraph, as was customary for soaps of the time, "No matter how dark the night, there is always a new dawn to come. The sun is but a morning star." The show's title referred to the sun.
