Ten Lives of a Cat: A Film about Chris Marker

A 25-minute visual essay by Kent Jones about Jean-Luc Godard and his film 'Weekend'.

A peculiar portrait of the Argentinean writer Jorge Luis Borges (1899-1986) drawn by the extravagant and original look of the Spanish writer Fernando Arrabal, who establishes a bold parallelism between Borges' work and opinions and his own creations, both literary and cinematographic.

A spritual inquisition lands in a village to inspect the dreams of a peasant and his renegade goose. Led by the zealous hums of a divine spectral apparatus, the visitation detects estranged frequencies, a 'spiritual reality' cloaked in the mundaneness of the peasent's home, leading to Cairo's City of the Dead.

With Frankenstein Re-membered, video artist and film historian Chris Gerrard collects these diverse fragments from the birth of cinema until the present day and in the tradition of Victor Frankenstein himself, attempts to stitch them back together into an adaptation of the original Shelley novel.

And it shows how these stories distort the view of the real world, and are used against you by politicians.
