The elderly Shukishi and his wife, Tomi, take the long journey from their small seaside village to visit their adult children in Tokyo. A Playground Day is a single-channel screen-recorded video with a voiceover of a narration of a fictional playground trip with my sisters. Through the illegible 3D scans of the playground, I constructed a fragmented visual story that depicts reimagination and faded memories. The self-referential voiceover serves as an index to the process of making this video, I had let the visuals of the video take its course and simply follow along, making up unscripted stories along the way.
