HOTEL ARMADA - A Portrait of Dance

My Really Cool Legs! follows a group of pediatric amputee athletes who challenge themselves beyond their disability. Led by their amputee mentor and coach, these kids dance and ski, ice skate and run, refusing to let their disability define who they are and what is possible.

In Buenos Aires a group of acclaimed dancers create the first Contemporary National Company of Dance under their collective leadership. This is the story of four talented dancers, Ernesto, Bettina, Victoria and Pablo, along six years of their journey. We follow their lives, we attend their rehearsals and performances in the emblematic building of the National Library, along with their premiere and backstage in the historical National Theatre of Cervantes. They expose their dreams as dancers, individuals and members of our society, as we observe the fulfilment of their biggest dream: the demand of a National Dance Law. Amazing choreographies, beautiful folklore songs and original Latin-American contemporary music reveal the beauty of dance becoming life.

The film consists of three sequences shot by a fixed camera: the first shows the balcony of a hospital with patients (soundtrack from the film "Vivre sa vie" by Jean-Luc Godard), the second is a scraped wall and the third is a crossroad with pedestrians and cars (sound taken from the film "The Time-Machine " by George Pal).

Multi-faceted artist Phil Niblock captures a brief moment of an interstellar communication by the Arkestra in their prime. Black turns white in a so-called negative post-process, while Niblock's camera focuses on microscopic details of hands, bodies and instruments. They identify the Brazilian dance formation Cia Dita as a "search place": exploring and recreating in artistic production the interactions between different languages ​​through dance, video, performance, photography and literature. Founded in 2003, the troop has traveled around the world and all continents with their projects. They call Corpornô (from "hardcore" and "porn") the Cia Dita atomic bomb, supersonic, crossing the sky with a ray of light in the deluded world of Puritans. Corpornô is a fine line between erotica and pornography. Heroes dive into the depths of the human being, incredibly representing what is animal, social, human, and inhumane in each of us.
