The central figure in the portrayal of historical figures is the politician Orla Lehmann.

In order to preserve the family farm Hamre, Bente follows her dying father's wishes and marries the brutal landowner's son Gorm. He hunts the young girls on the farm and succumbs to the evil and scheming influence of the marksman Grove. The unhappy marriage turns into a veritable power struggle between Bente and Gorm. At the same time, we follow Bente's younger sister Grethe, who appears to be happily married to Martin, the son of a merchant. However, Martin is unnaturally attached to his mother, and his family spends freely of Grethe's inheritance.

But how do you declare your love when you are engaged to Martha, and how do you get rid of Martha?

Johannes' hemmelighed

Johannes is upset because his parents have divorced and because his father never phones him. Before going to bed he wants his mother to read something from the Bible for him, instead of one of the usual stories from Superman. She reads some lines from the Revelation of St. John. Johannes asks her what "the end is near" means. She explains that it is when Jesus comes back, and sends the good people to Paradise and the evil ones to Hell. In the middle of the night Johannes sees a dazzling light and lots of water pouring out from the toilet. Suddenly an androgynous being is standing in the bathroom. Johannes thinks it's Jesus, and the being doesn't deny it. Johannes asks Jesus if his parents are going to Hell, as he thinks they are evil.

Ældre dame - A road movie that tells the story of two very different young women, Charlot and Charlotte, who meet by chance and end up driving together across Denmark from Copenhagen to Skagen. Along the way, they meet a wide range of very different people, from the senile Birksted to the psychopathic mass murderer Poul-Teddy, to a theater troupe and the elderly residents of a nursing home run by a headstrong matron. The naive and provincial Charlotte learns spontaneity from the smart city girl Charlot, while Charlot, in turn, learns from Charlotte to appreciate the experiences close to home.

Margrethe - TAXA is a Danish television drama made by Danmarks Radio with 56 episodes, written by Stig Thorsboe and produced by Rumble Hammerich. The series revolves around a small taxi central, CrownTaxi, in Copenhagen. The series was a success from the start, 14 September 1997 on DR1. The series was broadcast during the period 1997-1999 for a total of five series. CrownTaxi has its ups and downs and in the course of the series, following the various drivers, radio opertor Lizzie and boss Verner Boye-Larsen. They have all their problems both with clients and family life and constantly threaten the show's villain Hermann from the competing taxi firm, City Car, which wants to take over the CrownTaxi. TAXA was also screened in Sweden on SVT1.
